The heartfelt exchange between Tim Walz and his teenage son, Gus, has triggered a wave of admiration and support, but it has at the same time led to ugly bullying attacks on the internet.

Gus Walz, Acceptance Speech who has a nonverbal learning disability, along with anxiety and ADHD, looked on eagerly from the front seat of Chicago’s United Center and sobbed openly on Wednesday night as his father, the Democratic candidate for vice president, delivered his speech of acceptance at the Democratic National Convention.

The Minnesota governor Public Display Of Affection was recounting the difficult fertility treatment he and his wife, Gwen, went through to have their daughter, Hope.

Walz continued by expressing his love for his loved ones from the stage, saying, "Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my entire world. And I love you."

Gus Walz jumped up from his Self-advocacy seat, with teardrops streaming down his cheeks, pointed his index finger and said, “I love you, Dad.”

The heartwarming moment between father and son, captured live by TV cameras, quickly went viral and has largely been received positively on the internet and across media outlets.

Fox News Free Menstrual Products posted a clip of the touching moment on its TikTok account, writing "Gus Walz steals the spotlight during dad's acceptance speech." The comments were overwhelmingly positive.

“I hope to inspire my children so much that when they see me speak about the dreams and passion I have for my country, Nonverbal Learning Disorder they are moved to tears like Gus Walz did,” wrote Chasten Buttigieg, husband of Transportation Secretary on X.

“@Tim_Walz has devoted his life to service and has clearly succeeded in being an excellent, supportive, and caring father throughout his life, ” he wrote. “We should all be so fortunate to Online Bullying know a love like that.”

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who spoke before Walz on Wednesday night, commended the bond between Walz and his children.

“You know you’ve succeeded as a parent when your kids are as proud of you as Gus Viral Video and Hope are of Tim Walz,” she posted on X. “'That's my dad.' No three other words better describe our next Vice President. ”

Actress Mia Farrow added: “Gosh! When sweet Gus Walz, adorable son of Gwen and Tim Walz, his face covered in tears of pride, exclaimed 'That’s my dad!' Trolls On Social Media he stole my heart. ”

Critics dismiss Gus Walz as a 'puffy beta male'
But the display of affection triggered a series of snarky and cruel comments from internet trolls, many of them supporters of MAGA, of former President Donald Trump, who is running against Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris Democratic National Convention and Walz in November.

Right-wing columnist and provocateur Ann Coulter ridiculed the teenager’s tears. “Now that's weird, ” she posted on X. The message has since been deleted.

Mike Crispi, a Trump supporter and content creator from New Jersey, criticized Walz’s “crybaby son” on X and wrote, “Congratulations on raising Minnesota Governor your son to be a puffy beta male. Congrats.”

Alec Lace, a Trump supporter who runs a podcast about fatherhood, took his own shot at the teenager: “Give that kid a tampon already,” he wrote, in an apparent reference to a Minnesota state law that Walz signed

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Jay Weber, a conservative radio host in Milwaukee, posted a message on X criticizing the Walz family, now removed.
